@petergleick I guess the *claim* is that it can supposedly come up with some method of doing something to fix things. Putting aside for just a moment that that isn't actually going to work, LLMs certainly aren't "smart" enough (or, uh, thinking at all, but whatevs) to come up with something like that anyway. So it falls apart on its own. But, as you say, the *true* issue is that those at the top are all being bribed/already part of those who profit off of fossil fuels.

@McHollander @petergleick It still can't. AI doesn't exist. LLMs can't think. And the mechanism never ever under any circumstances no matter how much it is developed ever will.
But we don't really need a LLM to produce the answer there. The answer is simple: they should all be out of a career. (Not a job. A career.)

The solution is not the same thing as the end goal and it's usually more complicated and requires thinking, strategy and working to achieve it in combinations of small and big increments on various fronts with the end goal in mind.
Like the christian fanatics have done to make their christofascism a reality in the states.

Boomer at the table going: the government just needs to do X, refusing to do any thinking about steps that would get us in that direction.
