    Mike Johnson thinks the Congressional salary is too low and he wants us to "have some sympathy." I'll give him the same advice he and other corrupt elites give working people suffering on $7.25/hour:
    •Get a Second job at $7.25/hour
    •Go to college with an 8% loan
    •Stop buying avocado toast
    •Split rent on a studio apt
    •Move in w/your parents
    •”Find something new”
    •Make coffee at home

    @QasimRashid They literally choose not to even work frequently. Literally. They go on vacations all the time, even during a crisis. They get legal bribes from large corporations and groups to influence their votes — and they don't even have to vote that way still, it's just a bribe for influence. (Yes I call lobbying a bribe because it literally is.) Some receive millions... And Republicans won't even do their jobs when they're *at* their jobs... Disallowing votes on even non-partisan things.

          Fortunately, all of these Congressmen who support Mr. Trump will qualify for the 1.7 billion Traitors Fund which he has worked to embezzle from the Treasury by suing his own government.

              @QasimRashid perhaps this would be solved if congressional pay was always equal to minimum wage. They can get overtime pay if they track their hours and actually do that much work. If they don't do enough for full time employment, then they don't get health insurance. No paid vacations.

              That way, if they want better pay, they need to improve the lives of their constituents.

              @groxx @QasimRashid Turns out that putting them in charge of their own pay wasn't actually the best way to make them work honestly huh? I never did understand that.

              I agree though. The minimum wage is a really good metric. Even if they earned more, whatever they get should be in some way directly based on the minimum wage. (Like even if it's minimum + some percentage, they shouldn't be able to adjust the percentage, only the minimum.)

                Mike Johnson and the rest of MAGA congress people deserve a cut in pay for the malice, cruelty, and hatred demonstrated in bills they've passed or brought to a vote. Bills that the majority of we the people oppose. Any raises for House and Senate should be a ballot issue for voters to decide.

                    @QasimRashid Ive always thought that government salaries should be tied to minimum wage.

                    salaries = minimum wage * a multiplier.

                    Then they can lie about how they work 100x harder than every minimum wage worker in the country.

                      @QasimRashid Trading on inside information is theft. Buying and selling stocks when you have information not known to other investors gives you an advantage others don’t have. You are literally stealing from honest investors who don’t have the info you have. We have an entire regulatory system in place to make sure people who have inside information cannot take advantage of it. Congress and other elected officials must be made to follow the same rules as any other insider.

                          @QasimRashid Didn't MAGA Mike's financial disclosure show that he had no bank account, no investments, no reportable assets? How does the poor thing manage on a salary of $223,500 per year? He also receives $110,000 for office expenses, and at least $1,000,000 for travel allowance.

                            @QasimRashid I'd like to say "get a second job then" but I think they already have 3 or 4...

                              Mike Johnson thinks the Congressional salary is too low and he wants us to "have some sympathy." I'll give him the same advice he and other corrupt elites give working people suffering on $7.25/hour:
                              •Get a Second job at $7.25/hour
                              •Go to college with an 8% loan
                              •Stop buying avocado toast
                              •Split rent on a studio apt
                              •Move in w/your parents

                              @QasimRashid I like when someone argues that politicians should be paid more to "ensure our leaders are the best and brightest"...

                              Does that mean politicians are saying the current crop (i.e themselves) aren't the best? Or are they just saying they'll stop being our politicians if they don't get a pay rise... in which case... don't tease us with such a good offer.

                                @QasimRashid

                                That lazy goldbricking sonuvabitch has never had a single job a day in his dandy life.

                                Mike Johnson is a short-eyed creep telling me how to live?

                                Fuck you, Mike, you absolutely lazy godsucking freak.
