Friends. I've been chatting with Avi Lewis about a presence in the Fediverse — Mastodon. They are getting closer to taking this step, & YOU are needed. Why does this matter? If we have wished that governments would leave corporate US social media capture, we need more champions. Polite appeals aren't enough. Every new party leader in the Fediverse is a win for digital sovereignty, thus it is an act of defence & patriotism for #Canada, #Greenland, #Venezuela to move leaders to the Fedi. #cdnpoli

@ZebKing I am really surprised that more Canadian politicians are not on the fediverse and especially those who talk about national sovereignty. There seems to be a disconnect there. #fediverse #sovereignty #socialmedia

@ZebKing I'm going to make a push in this direction later this month. I'm hopeful that I can get some Threads accounts that enable sharing to the Fediverse; I'll ask, but I'm not very optimistic that I'll be able to persuade people to open accounts here.
