    All the "AI" products they developed would have been impossible without exploiting the creations and personal information of millions of people without their consent.

    This is happening without any compensation for the hard work and data of the people without whom their technology would be impossible.

    They are making billions from this exploitation.

    Is this something you support?

      @Em0nM4stodon “AI” first exploits people, then kills their jobs. Employees are being forced to train “AI” to take over their jobs. LLMs killed my job. #NoAI

        @Em0nM4stodon Good point, but they are not making billions. They are taking billions from investors and then failing to make any money at all from the actual products.

          @mikemccaffrey @Em0nM4stodon I'm going to bet you that some of all those billions taken from VCs are going into AI company CEOs' pockets, and also enough that those AI company CEOs are billionaires themselves now.

            @mikemccaffrey Indeed. I hope this all crashes soon. But sadly, I fear they will indeed make billions, not just from investors' borrowed money like they do now, but from governments contracts. That's what they're going after now. And we will be the ones paying the price again.

              @mikemccaffrey

              Aren't they screwing both sides? They extract billions in money and value from people, burn those billions, extract billions from investors (who themselves extracted those billions from people), and burn those billions too.

                the global economy is both a casino where oligarchs gamble with house money, and a labor camp where you work or die

                  @joriki @Em0nM4stodon I'd say it's a casino where lords gamble with the lives of the rest of us.
