During various excavations at the Roman fort in Osterburken, more than 120 arrowheads and spearheads were discovered. Some are of Roman origin; most are of Germanic type. The fort was attacked around the middle of the 3rd century AD. These finds highlight the intense threat to Roman territory in what is now south-western Germany.
