The TL;DR on this is that Doug Ford's honorary degree looks dumb at a glance, like did they know who Ford is? Looking like they do, they did it because of who he is, and there's some mutual backscratching going on. Saginaw Valley State University is getting more than publicity out of this.

While Ontario's post-secondary sector is getting starved for funds, SVSU may be getting favours from our premier.
