    Maximum resistance to picking.

If "maximum" is about 20 seconds, I'd hate to see their less-secure locks.

@lexLohr ah, I what's the German name? And is "disc" a reference to the wafers, or something else in that style lock?

@alice The German term is "Scheibenschloss". And yes, it's in reference to the wafers that interlock with the core unless pushed exactly into the middle. The interlocking part is sometimes called "Schwalbenschwanz" because of its profile.

@er4z0r I actually had to use "top of the keyway" rotation, because it's a relatively short keyway, and the pins are long, so a turning tool and pick are hard to fit with room still left to work.

@alice I hear ya. My current focus are small size German padlocks as that's what I'm most likely to encounter on a job (I live in Germany). The problem there becomes: My TOK tensioners are too deep so they tend to touch the first pin causing trouble. I generally wonder if I want a better assortment of tensioners

@Fruan you might be on to something.

Of perhaps it's "Maximum resistance to licking"? You'll never make it to the Tootsie roll core.

@alice @Fruan It must of course be "Maximum resistance to Pict Kings", though why they thought the lock's strength against 1200 year old Scottish monarchs was worthy of putting on the packaging is anyone's guess.

@er4z0r IME touching the first pin isn't big a deal, as long as I know it's a thing and don't mistake it for binding. But, that said, I rarely use TOK unless it's necessary, as (especially with love locks) accidentally popping your prybar out and off a bridge sucks.

@alice What does it take to pick a discus lock? I have a bunch in my collection but haven't managed to get any of them open.

@alice oh those things are awful... manufactured of stamped steel to the absolute loosest of tolerances, they're trivial to defeat. If you ever rent a storage unit and it comes with one of those locks, throw it away/return it and use your own.
