@matratype I've been using Flickr since 2004. Will use it until I cannot use it no more. It's the only good place for photos on the Internet. Use it!

What happened?@matratype I went on flickr when it was still owned by Yahoo. It got sold a couple of times and got worse here and there technically. Then they introduced a disk space limit retrospectively and didn't stop sending threatening emails that they would delete everything over that limit if I didn't sign up for premium right now.
I don't know if they deleted my photos. I lost all and every interest in that site. -

I made my account when Yahoo owned it, something I realised again yesterday when I noticed that my login credentials were Yahoo not Google. I didn’t realise things got bad in this way when they changed hands. -

@matratype so it may just be my Pixelfed client, but it just displays my feed as one long stream, whereas in Flickr I get a few shots from each group’s photos as a lump in my feed, letting me then go in and see what that group’s been doing. Also, there are discussions within groups, which is nice, especially for camera specific groups. Pixelfed doesn’t feel quite like it does that side of thing as well.
Also, searching through images by lens etc. is easier, which is a thing I like to do if I’m considering wasting a bunch more money on kit I don’t really need -
