#OtD 11 May 1894 the Pullman railroad strike began in Chicago after the firing of 3 workers. The biggest strike in US history to date, it was only eventually broken by federal government troops and the killing of at least 24 strikers https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8336/pullman-strike-begins
