    Feb 14, 2026 Update:
    It looks as though it was a good decision to move.
    After over a year of doctors alarmed by the dangerously high blood pressure numbers, adjusting his blood pressure meds so as to try to prevent another stroke, the solution was to move to a smaller, quieter, more peaceful retirement home. His Bp is now holding steady at a normal level, and his attitude has abruptly changed, a complete 180 to a more positive one.
    Finally, without my asking, reminding, or otherwise mentioning it, he immediately joined in yoga classes, is practicing his physio and speech therapy exercises, making the healthiest meal choices, sleeping better, and is making friends.
    He is more content and happier.
    My 24/7 worrying and stress load has eased so much. <huge sigh of relief>
    I am so grateful to the staff here, because the past few years have left me with caregiver burnout, and now I feel we both are in a place where we can rest and heal.
    Thank you 🙏 so very much to all, long time friends a new ones, who offered kind words of support as I worked through his last hospitalization and this decision to move.

        @SnowyCA Snowy, this is really lovely to read! Sounds like exactly the right move to move. I’m so happy that things are improving, not just for husband, but also for your lessening stress.

              What a relief!

              The quality of life in care facilities can vary so much. Everyone deserves care that is actually good for them — and those who care for them.

              @SnowyCA
