@stormygleason In hindsight, I’m not sure why me and my punk friends *in Chicago* were so into cranking that tune and hollerin along. I guess the incredible intensity of it just sorta makes you wanna get on their side wherever you are. Fuck LA

@tym yeah I remember that album being a big deal growing up near Boston, but you know my friends were all also listening to Black Flag and west coast hardcore too.

@stormygleason Yeah, and I mean really, in the best read, the song knew that you were and didn’t really mind. The point isn’t so much “LA sucks” but more like Let’s be our own scene here and not just try to copy theirs. I think that’s what made it transferable, the like emotional impact of that idea
