@Sarah111well intermittently. I didn’t when it was very cold but put a handful of kibble out occasionally as things got milder. I was mostly feeding mice/voles with a constant stream in and out, day and night. Luckily I’d put a handful of kibble in the night before last and it was still there. Hog went in and out throughout the night so I think it’s my little regular, Haggis.

It's a complete mystery to me how many hogs may be left around here. Numbers seem to be going down every year, but I shall go and buy some fresh cat/kitten kibble and keep my fingers crossed for some youngsters this year. Hopefully I'll be offered the tennis ball sized one that I took in to the wildlife rescue place last year, back to release.

@Sarah111well I do so worry for them. Life does seem to be filled with hedgehog hazards. I’ve seen several road casualties even during the winter. I really hope to see more in the garden this year. Fingers crossed you get your tennis ball hog

@helenclayton Yes, they do. They went underground early this autumn, so I knew winter would be cold .

@helenclayton You can sometimes tell this even if you don´t have a camera. They poop a long string almost like a pencil, first time out.
