This is terrifying. This manipulation is pure greed.

Maryland just banned it. The Protection from Predatory Pricing Act makes it the first state to outlaw dynamic pricing in grocery stores.

Technology should serve us. We should not serve technology.

@fst @FluentInFinance I'm not willing to pay anything to a vendor that charges me twice as much as the person stood next to me for the same item. The market sets the price at what people *collectively* are willing to pay. There are reasons people ended up shopping more in stores with price labels than markets where everything was haggled for. A retail experience dark age fueled by technology intended to erase community power holds zero appeal.

@david @FluentInFinance I signed a lease for an apartment and planned to move in. Day before I was to pick up the keys I get a call from the complex, their crew made a mistake and broke a water line in the apartment while setting it for move in. The apartment had serious damage and was unable to be lived in till repairs are made. Good news, they had another apartment, same floor, different building, same floor plan, available immediately. $50 more a month for rent. Plus 2¢ more per kwh for power
