Out for my evening walk and heard the "hoo HOO' of an owl. Looked around, didn't expect to see much, it's night. And saw a lighter blob atop the tallest tree. Got a couple of blurry pictures, then saw the wing spread as it departed.
Used the "Merlin" bird id app for the sound. Was expecting a barn owl, but Merlin said it was a Great Horned Owl.

@pseudonym There's a Great Horned owl here who hoots up a storm sometimes. We really enjoy it.
