Whaaa... The kitchen cabinets are different than in my previous apartment. There's more of them. Where does everything go? What's the optimal placement for stuff? Why do I have more certain types of shelves than I need? Whaaaaa!

Maybe use some awkwardly positioned spare space for storing unopened e.g. kitchen paper, trashbags, toothbrush heads, cleaning supplies.It's nice to have spares so you don't run out and can buy them when they're cheap
+ to have the spares in a few specific places so you know where to look
+ to have them away from the ones you're currently using so you don't end up with multiple open packages of the same thing getting in the way. -

But yes, emergency spares of necessities in separate places is a good idea.
