Maybe, maybe not.

EVERYONE in a given group needs accurate child psychology and sociology education.
People will only decide things based on what they see or hear, or reasonably infer from that knowledge base. What they can imagine is limited by working hours, caring needs, health conditions, and personal energy levels.

I'm also a fan of removing the term "conventional current", if that weren't obvious.
Conventional current is "positive charge" moving the opposite way from the flow of "actual electrons". It's a stupid term. It is literally, figuratively, and pedagogically backwards.

"Age appropriator"? "Age content filterer"? Something like that, for deciding how to teach sustainable, low-energy contact methods. Like age appropriate, but making near-any topic age appropriate.

Like, idfk. Kid's 8 or something and watches a Quentin Tarantino movie at a friend's older sibling's party.

What would you do in that case? Well, maybe get them a therapist or family counsellor, idk. Also probably grill the friend's older sibling WTF they were thinking or not checking.
But then, kid-wise, what do you do?
(Besides what the qualified mental health professionals suggest.)

You gotta think about what the information was, how they interpreted it, and what distress they feel (if any? But probably some?).
Also what lessons might they learn without context from experience? Like, that's the main problem afaik, but prob not the only one.

49:30 heck, it seems like egging on the kid. First time the 3 year old yells "Turn it off!" You could look her way (not completely while driving) and say "one sec", then turn the volume down a little.
I don't think she'll keep screaming it (or getting more agitated, obv) if she feels heard and understood.
Especially if you then say "It's a little lower now. I know you wanted it turned off, but I need to remind you not to scream at me."
Then you kinda... go from there?
If the kid does start screaming again, ask questions and ask her to explain what her sensations are, where they're coming from, and what options there might be.

If the kid doesn't start screaming again, then... you kinda still do that?
Like, talk it through and come to a group decision, alternating who's ideal outcome gets chosen each time.

If any parents want to weigh in, please do. I'm still on the fence whether I'd be a remotely okay parent, whether it's fair, etc. I hope my ideas are alright, at least.

Maybe the parent needs to get something done on the laptop, idk. But that lack of direct attention is *why* the kid's doing it.

Idk what to suggest for that, but words clearly aren't working, so trying anything else?
Idk. This is where my complete lack of experience or intuition is showing. I feel why they might do whatever but not have a next step in mind, if this were me.

I am once again begging parents and carers to learn BSL and/or Makaton. (Or the gestural language in your region.)
Your kid doesn't need a sensory impairment for them to use it. (Also other kids might know it, or parents, or whoever, anyway.)
Even if not, let them have MORE tools to communicate, not fewer ffs.
