    I was sitting on a bus bench.

    This guy walked by with a rottweiler dog—a BIG version. The guy walked right by, but the dog plunked its big head right in my seated lap. No hesitation, more like, "I've arrived, sorry I'm late!"

    "Hi!" said I. "You're lovely."

    "What are you doing?!" snapped the guy to his dog as he dragged it off.

    I know which of those two is better behaved in public.

      @PKYo Some dog owners need a spray of the water bottle. They don't deserve good doggos.

        Rottweilers and huskies, oddly, never trigger my cynophobia. Neighborhood owns both and their wellbehaved and friendly. And he deserves them. Rotts a rescue. Owner spent a good ten minutes expressing his disappointment that the prior owner trimmed the poor girl's ears.
