My immediate goal is to raise at least $1000 by Thursday, May 7. The absolute stretch goal is $7000 and any amount in between would be terrific. The idea is to fulfill my commitment as a potential host of this cross-state fundraiser between New Mexico and Minnesota. Every few dollars helps. 2/ https://secure.actblue.com/donate/05072026santafe?refcode=Feldman 2/

Peggy Flanagan faces a Democratic centrist in the primary. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Martin Heinrich are among the sitting progressive Democratic Senators helping Flanagan. Of course, Check Schumer supports her opponent. 3/

By raising funds for the Peggy Flanagan event in New Mexico, I’m showing support for cross-state coalition building on behalf of the progressive branch of the current Democratic power. If I attend as host, I should have worthwhile things to report back to my Mastodon community - you wonderful folks boosting and donating to the effort. 4/ https://secure.actblue.com/donate/05072026santafe?refcode=Feldman

This article canvasses Schumer’s opposition to progressive candidates like Peggy Flanagan, and how support for her weakens Schumer’s grip on the Senate Democratic caucus. https://www.newsweek.com/democratic-party-future-trump-schumer-leadership-2026-11904381 5/

Some excerpts from the article (link at 5/)
“In Minnesota, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is challenging Representative Angie Craig for an open Senate seat. The race has become a referendum on the kind of Democrat the party needs, and implicitly, whether Schumer's centrist recruits can still win.” 6/

“Flanagan, a state officeholder running a grassroots campaign, positions herself against Craig as representing a new Democratic generation willing to fight rather than compromise. Polling shows both candidates performing equally well against the likely Republican opponent.“ 7/

Flanagan: “"Democrats are looking for new leadership and want more than just a conversation about electability. They want a candidate who will actually fight for them and deliver."
