a cozy science fiction story about a sentient slime mold who is a graduate student studying biology. they head off to a remote planet and meet a woman, a brothel worker in pompeii
you get to learn a bunch you never knew about the roman empire, and there is a satisfyingly complicated romance. also, i hope everybody develops a deeper appreciation for sapphic tentacle sex
