    (oooh, this story both as ebikes and Teslas...12 year old. Unclear if it was the Tesla, the 64-year old driver, the 12 year old, or the e-bike or e-moto that was the major factor here).

      @ai6yr
      Weird bike lanes. No apparent way to move from the far right side across 4 lanes going in the same direction. Making the same turn going in the opposite direction is clearer, but not sure it's any safer, looking at how drivers behave 😬

        @me_valentijn This is a very common problem in our area.... Sometimes I end up just going to the crosswalk and using it.

          @ai6yr @me_valentijn at 12 years old, this is the right answer.

          When I was a kid, the rule at any intersection with a stop sign or a light was to cross like a pedestrian, regardless of my vehicle.

          Of course, I was a kid so I frequently ignored that rule... but even now there's a good chance I'd take crosswalks on my bike. Turning left with traffic just seems way too sketchy.

          I should mention that I mostly skateboard, so biking in traffic is really uncomfortable for me... but that's probably an indictment of our infrastructure as much as my ability.

            @mathaetaes @me_valentijn Yeah, I generally won't do a left turn as you have to cross traffic lanes. The road cyclists will do the actual turn lane. I also am VERY careful at going straight where a car may take a right turn, they are notorious for not looking or seeing a cyclist and taking out the cyclist as they take the right turn.

              @ai6yr @me_valentijn I see folks take the left lanes all the time... but I also watch them struggle to get from the bike lane, which is almost always on the right, over to the left lane.
