@jonah one reason is that it's paradoxically more costly to put on rooftops and over parking lots then in a large, inexpensive degraded land (e.g. former landfills)

@jonah though PV on large rooftops is cheaper than on small rooftops (like houses), it's still more expensive than on cheap land AFAIK, though to be honest my knowledge of this is more western europe-centered, I'd wager it should be similar in northern America.

@jonah As someone who lives in a townhouse that has a large amount of roof real estate, I often think of how much power could be generated from townhome and apartment complexes.
