        @gawdy Kindly, whether or not it’s intended, when people try to talk about the history of #slavery & the systemic abuse of #Black people & others change the subject, it can be a form of #BlackErasure. From my experience I’ve found that people do the “What about this group” most when #Black issues are brought up & it’s something all of us who aren’t #Black should be aware of. What’s happening in Gaza is devastating, it’s just not what I’m talking about here. #BLM #Blackmastodon

          @ErikaSumner @gawdy yes and yes. When *your* life is devastated *today*, that seems more salient, to say the least.

          But the xenophobia and anti-Black agenda of the US administration deserves explicit opposition.

          For the record while the UK might have built on a kernel of truth, they probably should have just shut their trap, not to mention the US.

            @ErikaSumner I have no idea why neither the BBC nor even the UN's own press release actually links to the resolution, but here it is:

                @ErikaSumner

                "Fifty-two countries abstained, including the United Kingdom and European Union member states."

                What a bloody disgrace for France and Europe. What ever happened to all your fine post-WWII resolutions?

                Quelle honte pour la France et l'Europe ! Qu'est-il advenu de toutes vos belles résolutions d'après-guerre ?
