Russia's Black Sea Fleet fled Crimea to Novorossiysk after losing ship after ship to Ukrainian strikes.

Then Ukraine started hitting Novorossiysk too—sea drones, an underwater robot sub, and now massed aerial drone swarms.

Russia adapted every time. Barriers, air patrols, layered defenses. It worked—no ships lost in 2025.

The 1-2 March raid got through anyway. Satellite images confirm the frigate Admiral Essen's radar and weapons systems are wrecked.

Türkiye closed the Bosphorus to Russian warships in 2022. No replacements are coming. There's no repair yard.

The fleet started this war with 80+ vessels. It clings to one port now—and every hit is permanent.
