Over 600 sailors and crewmembers lost their beds in the fire and since been bunking down on floors and tables.

"And in the category of non-life-threatening, but still not ideal, many sailors have not been able to do laundry since the fire."

The fire onboard the USS Gerald Ford looks like it belongs in the "but for the o'ring" category.

The ship is the largest carrier ever built. It's been in service less than three years. And now it's likely to be out-of-service for months owing to a fire in the laundry room so bad it took over a day to extinguish. My first thought would be design and or construction flaws. FFS.
