The ones we call "author bots" on here drive me insane. Whether they're actual people or bots, it doesn't even matter. Asking a bunch of people the same exact question will get the same response: no replies. It's weird. If you are someone who is either a published or non-published author, and you're looking to make friends on here, that's certainly not the way to do it. Just be yourself. Maybe take part in some of the hashtags, if you have time or you want to. Establish yourself. Make posts. Chat a bit, but in a *normal* way. That's how you actually do it.

@floofpaldi Problem is, thanks to social media, everyone "masks" and forget how to be themselves. *Normal* has turned into an archaic word with barely any meaning these days. I work hard to be just me and try not fall into the trap of mirroring. Try. Really, really try.

By the way, been getting a mass of faceless, barren profiles following me of late. A day later, their accounts are suspended.

@autistic_writer Absolutely true. That was the best response ever. And as for the faceless accounts, I'm glad they get suspended. The only people I follow back who don't have an icon/avatar are people that also state in their bio that they're visually impaired, of course. I have a lot of friends who are, so you really have to look at the profiles and the bios. Gotta investigate and stuff. But I hate all the accounts that follow me that are just suspended in a day or two. It's so annoying. And yeah, it's so draining. It really is.
