Well, new instance so a new #introduction is in order.

@heliomass in Canada you have to specify "London, UK" or "London, ON". It's unfortunate but we all accept it. It's also your duty to ask "London UK or London ON?" whenever "London" is brought up
@pl @heliomass I disagree. If you refer to the city between Toronto and USA, then it is "Fake London" so no need to distinguish it from the real on in the You Kay.

@jfmezei @pl I’ve got some bad news for you. Apparently there are other Londons too! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_(disambiguation)
I’m very surprised there’s one in France.

Hi, I’m Daniel. I grew up in London (England), and a series of fortunate circumstances brought me to Montreal. My day job is in software engineering (mainly DevOps these days).
My profile has more information about the kind of content I tend to post, but certainly I’ve felt at home on Mastodon since I joined back in 2017, and I’m happy to be here on CoSocial!
@heliomass Since you're from UK and your first name is Daniel, you must know Daniel Radcliffe?

@heliomass @pl And there are multiple Brightons !
I have biked through the first 3:
One south of London UK.
One west of Kingston ON.
One part of greater Sydney areas (O'Stralia). (technically Brighton-le-Sand)Apparently there is one in Michigan too.

@jfmezei I’m not sure it works like that… It’s like asking someone from Iceland if they know Björk or Sigur Róz (although in that case it often turns out they do).

@heliomass @jfmezei I read about that last week!

@heliomass That was the point of asking if you knew the other Daniel in England
Cliché question from Americans when they meet someone who is from a town where they know someone. -

@evan Thanks for the invite! I’ll try and make it along to one of the events.

@heliomass I’m having a tough time choosing between cosocial.ca and thecanadian.social. Are you able to share why you went cosocial?
