Politican Mike Johnson says we need to let politicians trade stocks because they need the extra income.

He says: “Have some sympathy. At least let them engage in some stock trading so they can continue to take care of their family.”

Congress earns 3x what the average American make and he’s asking for your sympathy lol.

They should be allowed to continue buying general ETFs and funds so that they don’t go hungry.

@FluentInFinance This should be the final nail in the coffin for any party. Any party.

If not, the system is corrupt down to the bones… 🤔

@FluentInFinance 🤔 suddenly they understand compassion and realize crimes are motivated by trying to afford supporting their family. Surely they can now transfer this wisdom to apply to those less affluent!

@FluentInFinance @blogdiva I want someone to ask that motherfucker when the minimum wage was last raised and how much earning power has been lost due to inflation in that time.

@FluentInFinance Boo hoo . “You people want us to do our jobs? As a civil servant? Not wallow in cash? We are very humble servants.” Jeez
Maybe we should make a law that insists that being an “elected civil servant” should be unpaid volunteer work! How’d you like that?
(Yes in all honesty this wouldn’t work well unless thoroughly thought through, but for Pete’s sake 🫩 these representatives have no shame , humility or morality. I just think maybe they don’t need or deserve this job anymore)
