I like the iPhone 17 E. If I didn't already have a 16 Pro, I'd probably go for it.

I like the iPhone 17 E. If I didn't already have a 16 Pro, I'd probably go for it. I figure that cameras these days are more than good enough, so a single sensor isn't going to give me trouble with barcodes or OCR. I never use LiDAR on my Pro. Of course, I hope to keep this 16 Pro for at least another two years, so it's a moot point. Still, the 17 E seems like a great value for a lot of people, especially VO users who don't care about cameras, screens, or the notch look.

@alexhall I might have to give this serious consideration. My 15 Pro Max‘s battery is getting close to needing replacing. That’s 100 bucks right there.
I’m sure the 18 Pro phones are gonna be great, but I don’t feel like paying a super premium for stunning visual graphics and photos… -

I’m sure the 18 Pro phones are gonna be great, but I don’t feel like paying a super premium for stunning visual graphics and photos…@Cristobalm I paid the premium so I could have the best OCR, including in low light; the LiDAR sensor; the fast USB-C port; the action button; the best battery without going for the Max; and the best internals so the phone would last me. Now, I never use LiDAR, my battery isn't very good, all the latest phones have the action button, and I doubt the cameras actually help for my use case. If I still had my 13 Mini, I'd go for the 17 E.
