    Obviously, no one wants an athlete to get hurt. But I could really do without the men's hockey commentators repeating over and over again what amounts to, "Won't anyone think of NHL owners?"

      @brian_gettler Seriously. Those owners aren't exactly swinging examples of "player safety at all costs" either. I'm getting very tired of people making excuses and apologies for billionaires.

      Tangentially, I think until you have met a person who is that insanely wealthy you probably have no idea what they are really like. We imagine that the are like us, just with more money. They are not. They are power hungry and they see the world a particular way. You are either their friend or their food, and you are not ever their friend. They will NEVER prioritize the best interests of others over themselves. At best they will look for win-wins, but they will never let you make them a loser in any way.

      Once you've met a billionaire in person, in an unguarded state, you can't unsee that.

      Let's stop fucking pandering to them in every way.
