      speaking of…

this is how the image sensors were delivered. How does that make you feel?

two of them! The second one was more nasty to solder, I was still faster, but it wouldn’t want to boot the first two tries

I think they are super cute, so small and they boot linux! The boards are just 50x50mm, you can make this a whole lot smaller of course, the OtterCastAudioV2 was smaller, but still.. :3

@janamarie How do you clean such a delicate surface?

and tadaaaaaa~ two more OtterCam-s3's! They boot, but of course I can only test the whole thing once an image falls out of the OS05A20 sensor. I could also assemble the EF-S boards, but I don’t think they are needed right now, I will probably use these with C/CS lenses

@nblr with Kimtech wipes, but honestly they are not super delicate.. it's glass after all, I just wouldn't want to use solvents close to the sensor

@janamarie Kapton tape directly on the CCD? This is fine. 🫣

@floe yep! Surprisingly it is! These sensor surfaces are surprisingly resilient, its not how I wanted to get this delivered, but eh.. 😄 actually I would rather have kapton over the entire surface, because it keeps it very clean!

such a stark contrast between a pre-assembled and finished board, it’s not many more parts, just very space-filling parts
