They are prioritizing AI over humans.

cloudflare has always leaned heavily into lots of automation that cuts staff numbers but isn't necessarily easy/fast to fix. they are much more concerned with recurring revenue than availability (or the cleanliness of their clients...).

i'm hoping there is a karmic correction coming, where the companies most willing to sacrifice their staff to the god of AI are the ones with the biggest messes and losses, and longest recovery exactly because they got rid of senior staff.
