        @meoralis

        Yeah. Wouldn't let me touch it, which is probably a good thing, but it was happy to lay right there while I pottered around it picking up crap, pulling up dead weeds, etc. Left the back door open briefly and it started to walk towards the house so I put a stop to that. Went straight back to laying in the sun with half an eye on me.

          Popped into the garden to clear some dead plants and leaves away. Two foxes were sunning themselves. One scarpered. One couldn't have given less of a shit that I was there if it tried. It sniffed my shoes, it was very interested in my phone when I pulled it out to take photos. Not the best assistance I could have asked for, but also not the worst.

          @neonbubble just shifted 12 bags of Alpaca manure. Lovely stuff. I’ll get more in April.

                @neonbubble @meoralis perhaps someone had been feeding it.

                (i recommend unsalted peanuts, cat food and marmite. slug of veg oil, that and the yeast is good for their coat.)

                  Yeah, we feed squirrels and birds with red skin, unsalted peanuts when we go for walks so I scattered a few at its feet - you can just make them out in the photo - and it ate a few.

                      @neonbubble Loss of fear towards humans is a *really* bad sign and I’m hoping you backed away slowly. Normally skittish animals showing no skittish behavior is often a sign of rabies. Please be careful.

                          @neonbubble If foxes feel very comfortable in your garden you may end up having them dig a lair and having pups. It's a bit sweet but also a lot of noise to endure

                            @rasmus91

                            We've always had foxes around here. They used to dig tunnels in our garden when we had decking but that's no longer the case now. We don't care about the noise as it tends to be out the back of the house but they can be destructive little buggers.

                                @monkeyninja @neonbubble We don’t have rabies in the UK. What we do have is a fox population that now lives amongst our urban sprawl, and so is becoming accustomed to us.

                                  @davidbcohen @neonbubble Oh yikes, yeah that's bad in an entirely different way. I had no idea rabies was nigh on unheard of in the UK. I wish that were the case in the US, it's sadly very common here.
