Introducing Indigo
A beautiful new app for Bluesky and Mastodon and the best way to experience both social networks together. It’s tough keeping up with everyone you care about when they’re split across different networks but Indigo brings them together for a seamless social experience.

What’s really special about Indigo is how quickly you stop thinking about Bluesky and Mastodon as separate destinations. Building on our work for Croissant, Indigo makes it as easy as possible to post to both networks and to share posts between them.
Of course, if you only use one service, Indigo works great for that too.

It’s available today on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
While we’re incredibly proud of Indigo and the work we’ve put into it so far, we’re equally excited about its future and being able to iterate and improve it in collaboration with its users. We’ve got so many great features planned and we can’t wait to share more.

If you want more details, there’s a lot more in our announcement blog post here: https://benricemccarthy.ghost.io/indigo/
And for the design geeks, Ben put together a deeper dive on how Indigo’s UI has evolved since we started work on it, here: https://benricemccarthy.ghost.io/indigos-design-evolution/
A huge thanks to our beta testers who kept pushing for Indigo to be the best it can be, to the members of the press who will (I hope) help us spread the word, and to everyone who’s cheered along the way.
Don’t forget to leave a review on the App Store, and to share it with your most terminally online friends.

@soapboxsoftware How is the cross-posting functionality? I have a friend who will be running for local office. He's going to be bluesky first (ugh) but I've talked him into including masto. We've been thinking Croissant?

@User47 Croissant also supports Threads, but is posting only. Indigo is a full client for Bluesky and Mastodon, which he might want for replies, etc

@soapboxsoftware I didn’t even know there was a beta for this! I’m so sad. Happy that I get to try it out now though, just bought it

@soapboxsoftware Just went ahead and purchased it - does the app support URI schemes so that I can wire it into the tapestry app?

@PeterGracar only limited support right now, but if you want to shoot an email to aaron @ soapboxsoftware .net with details on exactly what you’re trying to achieve we can look into it

@soapboxsoftware I assume that Tapestry will eventually support Indigo as a bluesky and mastodon client, but until they do that I just want to be able to open a given toot/skeet in Indigo if I have a direct link to it. Is that possible?

@soapboxsoftware My first thought from the third screenshot is that it would have been fun to marry a person named Lux so we could be Lex and Lux Friedman.
Also congrats on shipping! It’s a beautiful app!!

@PeterGracar We currently have the ability to do that, but it’s an internal feature for testing. We would like to add a user-friendly way to do that though (like a share sheet extension)

@soapboxsoftware i’m sure this isn’t your fault, and it’s probably on the Mastodon server instance, but managing my mastodon login is the worst part about this whole ecosystem
