It was the west that backed a Banderite coup in 2014, sparking the Ukrainian Civil War. NATO has been encircling Russia for the greater part of a century at this point.

@Cowbee oh yeah, I remember seeing all the foreign agents in Ukraine in 2014! Except they were all Russians who were "on holiday" or "got lost"... and they had uniforms and rifles... then they faked a referendum and started nibbling bits of the country. Then they fucking shot down a passenger jet.

The only reason Russia doesn't like being "encircled" by NATO is because they want to be able to bully their neighbours, and they can't do that if those neighbours are in a defensive pact. That's why Russia is so dead set against Ukraine being in the EU or NATO - how can it extort Ukraine if re-invasion is no longer a credible threat?!

The west admitted to helping the Banderites overthrow the democratically elected president of Ukraine, and said Banderites started ethnically repressing Russians living in Eastern Ukraine.

As for NATO, NATO is an inter-imperialist anti-revolutionary coalition force. It's "defensive" like the IDF is. The soviets weren't a threat to Western Europe, and neither is the Russian Federation, yet the imperialists in Europe and the US needed to contain socialism to prevent it from spreading and threatening their super-profits.

@gary_host_laptop that's a good point, Russia should be worried by that as it set a precedent for NATO bombing genocidal regimes.

@Cowbee TASS told you that, did it? I'm very glad that Russia is no threat to western Europe (except for assassinations, cyber warfare, and mysterious drone incursions). I'm sure that will remain true after they've finished being no threat to eastern Europe.

I'm off from this thread now because I don't want to give you any more credit towards your Lada.
