In my experience, Star Trek fans think they're good people because they're into Star Trek. Discworld fans take the lessons Discworld taught them and try to do good things with those lessons. -

@cass I kind of hope not because I don't live in the US and have never seen either of those shows! Tumblr is very American but Mastodon is a lot more international, so it's actually very hard to predict.

@cassolotl They're both very wholesome kid shows so they're beating out adult scifi and geek stuff. Kinda different from most stuff on here.

I fear there are those who loved RATM without understanding them that would wear Discworld because it sounded cool, long before they would wear a rainbow that involved reading.
