      @celestia
      Sorry but why? Europe is not UE, Europe is not a Holy Empire of Rome, and ... UK is in the same europe as France, Ukraine, Portugal and Macedonia.
      UE doesnt have the only right to use the name of continent, same as OrangeGuyCounty doesnt have the only right to use name of America, and ...

      Maybe the only one is Australia that I cannot argue about ๐Ÿ˜„

      So... Go! Aussie GO!

        @wikiyu I did not say UK is not in europe, there is some implied reasoning in my message that I hoped would be more obvious to the casual reader

        it's a bit naive to think they're saying "made in europe" for geographical reasons, because it's the internet and nobody cares about that.

        they are saying "made in europe" as a marketing slogan to boast about how securely and privately your data will be handled: they're telling you "we are not in sillicon valley, this is Europe, do not worry, your data is in good hands"

        their intent is further reinfored by them using "Made in Europe, motherland of GDPR." on their landing page, it's clear that they want you to think of the EU when they say europe, they're just not addressing the elephant in the room that they are, in fact, not bound by the GDPR or any other EU laws... I mean, not any more bound to it than a random country outside the EU would be

          Or they are writing "Made in Europe" (not in EU) because they want to cut from "Made in China" or "Made in US"

          We do not know their intent from website.
          But ...

          I remember that phase in Poland - before joining EU - companies had to write "Made in poland" on their products, after joining they have option to do it "in Poland" or "in EU" and it is still a funny part:

          If company target local market: writes in Poland
          if target balkans, greece, etc writes In Poland
          If target western europe writes "in EU" to hide its polish roots that can cause looking as worse quality then local

          We are now over two decades in union, and it still works like that.
          So I can understand them. They use their roots as advantage, not disadventage.
          I do NOT like it, but i can understand them.
