@fastfinge @TheQuinbox I don't change my displayname for that reason, don't wanna confuse people. The only time I do adjust it is at Christmas, but I kept it simple.

@alexchapman @TheQuinbox I also just like having it the same in the reply box as on the post. And I need to know your instance at all times so that I may judge you! LOL JK

@TheQuinbox The only reason I'd want a dialogue is if it was a web view that just showed the HTML version of the post content. Because everyone but Mastodon lets people format posts with lists and links and stuff. At least FastSM will actually recognize formatted links now. But it along with every other accessible client just gets rid of all other formatting. Whereas Fedra will actually let me write formatted posts if I want, seeing as my server allows that. God this is so good I can finally stop using enafore for things.

@fastfinge @TheQuinbox Hey, there's precedent for such a dialog; Paperback has it for web-rendering the current book section.

@jscholes @fastfinge Yeah, that is actually an excellednt idea that I had not considered. Mastodon posts can, afterall, be HTML, so we should render it as such, or render the markdown into HTML.

@fastfinge @TheQuinbox I think using WX pretty much means that there's not much of a chance that you'll get HTML rendering.

@ppatel @TheQuinbox Paperback already does it. You just have to use a webview2 component.

@FreakyFwoof @fastfinge Not yet, in part because my instance doesn't actually support quotes. I need to get off my lazy ass and figure out enough about sysadmining that server to update it, or just try on another server. I want to do it though.

@TheQuinbox @FreakyFwoof I can give you an account here if you want. Then you can also access the nice swagger API documentation at fed.interfree.ca/swagger. Lets you view the iceshrimp API, the mastodon API, and the federation API, and make test calls to all the things to see how they work.
