It is the Geiseltalmusezm in Halle(Saale). It is an old style fossil museum with very well preserved specimens, but it is situated in a 450 year old chapelle which make it a very special place. Sadly it is only open to special occasions as the university lack funding.

@hpod16 The most beautiful museum is the Kunstmuseum Den Haag (previously Gemeentemuseum Den Haag), where the building even has become part of the museum's collection.

I am lucky that I live very near to the museum and after becoming a friend, I can easily visit even if it's only for a brief moment.

Imho, even without its collection or exhibits, this is the most beautiful museum in the world

There's a book called "The best museum in the world" which I'm really enjoying! It invites you to visit a printed universal museum, and guides you on visited tours like in a physical one pretty original, right?️ ️

@hpod16 In Finland, my favourite museum is Theatre Museum in Helsinki. The exhibitions are great, but there's also a lot to do, and a minuscule stage with costumes, props and lights to try out.

Internationally, it would be The Light Art Museum in Unna, Germany, especially the James Turrel Skyspace. That's only open rarely, though, and in any case it's good to book the tickets way ahead.

@hpod16 must be museum Martena in Franeker, the Netherlands. It's a small and intimate museum which retains the house that people have been living in until the 20th century, that spans 600 years of its inhabitants. For experience it's got reproductions of articles of clothing displayed in pictures from the early 1500s to the early 1700s for my grubby hands to touch or even wear, like my profile ruff.

The Kröller-Müller Museum, which has world’s second largest Van Gogh collection and other turn of the century works, a huge sculpture garden, and all this right in the middle of a lovely national park, with forests, heaths, dunes and wildlife!

Combined with the park it’s an all round beautiful day out.

The Kröller-Müller Museum boasts the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world: almost 90 paintings and over 180 drawings. Furthermore, you will also find masterpieces by modern masters such as Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondriaan. In the sculpture garden, one of the largest in Europe, you can enjoy both sculptures and nature. Distributed throughout the garden are over 160 sculptures by iconic artists, from Auguste Rodin to Henry Moore and from Jean Dubuffet to Joep van Lieshout.
