@protonprivacy what about lumo, then?
@triple @protonprivacy Exactly. If they don't like enshittification, they should drop lumo & wallet and focus on their other products (like a native drive app for linux...).

@triple Lumo is a privacy-focused AI tool. It's a new and extra thing you don't have to interact with if you don't want, but given what people were talking to chatbots about, a privacy-preserving one has to exist.
It's fundamentally incomparable to changing an extant product.

@tiretpointtiret @triple having read a pretty large amount of doctorow's output, this is not what enshittification means (adding things that you can avoid if you don't want them)

@protonprivacy we don’t need to combine and “simplify” internet results, we need multiple sources like ai and reputable personal/professional and every day people site results, instead of trusting a company or 2 for all information.

@protonprivacy @triple It sure doesn't. But whatever we might call it, i still think you should drop lumo & wallet, and focus on your other products (especially drive for linux ffs) ^^

@protonprivacy Thanks, as long as you commit to keeping it a separate product that don't invade the other products we already use, it seems like a sane and respectful solution indeed.

@protonprivacy but I pay you for a VPN and cloud storage... your dev efforts are then spent on AI and crypto rubbish, so I am just a chump tbh.

@Rixer @protonprivacy AI should never be used as source in this context.
All it does is guessing what a good response would be.
