Poll time! Vibe coding or agentic engineering, I am curious what the Apple developer community is doing with LLM-assisted programming, now that Xcode has integrated it.
I know the wider Mastodon community has strong opinions on this stuff, but do you personally intend to use these tools? Has your opinion changed either way over the past year?
(You can pick multiple options)

@stroughtonsmith Feature development, I tend to lean less into Claude. But when I'm building tools, or doing migrations of sorts, my GOD is it good. It's so so so good nowadays.
I also use it for code review with skills like Axiom nowadays too.
My view atm is that I'm doing migrations, paying down tech debt, building tools and stuff that's useful if tomorrow the industry rug-pulls and we're left with $2000 a month minimum pricing etc. -

@stroughtonsmith I am slowly losing dexterity in my hands due to a neurological condition. Being able to code via prose or even voice is a huge game changer for me. This may not destroy, but save my career in thong run. I feel like we donโt talk enough about the accessibility angle of agentic coding.

@richard5mith or โuninterestingโ. Thatโs the one that gets me

@joshua @stroughtonsmith as someone who has recently developed quite severe RSI, which coincided with the rise of coding agents and improved transcription, I agree that it's been a complete lifesaver for me, especially because I'm in the process of launching an iOS-based software company.

@stroughtonsmith so it won't be long before the Apple software ecosystem collapses in on itself then...

@siguza @stroughtonsmith I do find this concerning. I guess it will be interesting to see if there is a meaningful decline in software quality over the coming months.

@stroughtonsmith @richard5mith if you think that, then you probably just haven't been on the receiving end of slop code enough.
