Follower migration can take some time as it requires the cooperation of the various servers involved, though you may lose followers if the destination server has blocked some servers you have followers on, or is blocked by some servers you have followers on.

As of May 2026, reports from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) and UNICEF indicate that over 21,000 children have been killed in #Gaza since October 2023. This figure represents approximately 30% of the total recorded fatalities.

But ​beyond these direct casualties, thousands more children are reported missing or buried under rubble, and at least 44,000 have been injured. In October 2025, UNICEF noted that the combined number of children killed or maimed had reached 64,000.

…Not least of all because the same company that runs the largest Mastodon instance runs more than one instance (why?)

But also the moderation policy that allows for the deletion of people’s posts. (Not even limiting the account or suspending it and asking the person who wrote the post to delete it but moderators outright deleting other people’s posts themselves. That sets a very dangerous precedent.)
