Il governo svizzero ha respinto due richieste di sorvolo da parte di aerei militari degli Stati Uniti collegati alla guerra in Iran. "Citando il principio di neutralità, il Consiglio federale ha bocciato le richieste presentate in relazione alla guerra in Iran", si legge in una dichiarazione della Federazione elvetica, che ha invece approvato un'autorizzazione per un volo di manutenzione e due richieste di sorvolo per aerei da trasporto. Sul sito Flighradar 24 si può infatti vedere come il volo RCH748 della United States Air Force, decollato stamattina dalla base militare americana di Ramstein, in Germania, per raggiungere Israele, ha dovuto fare un giro più ampio, passando sui Balcani. Invece che tirare dritto sui cieli di Svizzera e Italia, per poi raggiungere il Mediterraneo e il Medio Oriente. Il Boeing C-17A Globemaster III impiegato per il trasporto, un jet militare concepito per modernizzare le forze aeree della Nato, ha dovuto effettuare il percorso "allungato", evitando la Svizzera anche al ritorno verso Ramstein.

The Swiss government rejected two requests for military U.S. aircraft to fly over Switzerland related to the war in Iran. “Citing the principle of neutrality, the Federal Council rejected the requests submitted in relation to the war in Iran,” according to a statement from the Swiss Confederation, which instead approved authorization for a maintenance flight and two flight requests for transport aircraft. As can be seen on the Flighradar 24 website, the RCH748 flight of the United States Air Force, which took off this morning from the American military base of Ramstein in Germany to reach Israel, had to take a wider route, passing over the Balkans. Instead of continuing straight over the skies of Switzerland and Italy, to then reach the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, used for transport, a military jet designed to modernize NATO air forces, had to carry out the “extended” route, avoiding Switzerland even on its return to Ramstein.
