@nagirin Thank you for telling me this. I was desperately curious to find out what you would call the America of Europe.

@Alsvid@brain.worm.pink Europe instead of Norway was a typo, this is not ragebait if I had to say an "America of Europe" I'd say Germany without any hesitation.

@nagirin I am glad to discover this secret Norwegian lore nonetheless. If by some chance I ever end up in Norway I will be sure to check these places out.

@nagirin Where would I go if I want to eat delicious locally sourced (not McDolans) fried chicken, beef, veal, pork, or ham, preferably in a sort of batter or breading?

@Alsvid@brain.worm.pink we have a food here, it's kinda going out of fashion but it's called smultringer, it's literally called "lard rings". They're donut shaped dough things fried in lard and eaten warm. It's kinda nostalgic they sell them out of trailers and for the peak experience you need to eat it in the rain.

@Alsvid@brain.worm.pink I have a vivid memory of my dad buying me some on a rainy day, something about the hot greasy food goes well on a cold sour day

@nagirin We don't have anything like that here, but out here on Long Island people love to stuff rolls with butter, cheese, greasy hot bacon, and fried eggs. It's called a Bacon Egg Cheese (literally!) and you can get them everywhere in every town at bagel shops.
