      @davidgerard

      Reduced flicker of the file manager, being able to shutdown without waiting for updates to finish, moving the taskbar, ...

      If I recall correctly plasma and xfce could do all of this in 2010

            @davidgerard I'm shocked shocked that there's still a taskbar. Surely the AI guesses what you want to do next and just does it?

                @davidgerard One of the problems with Microsoft is that all of its products are driven by marketing. So even C#, a programming language gets chock full of things that "people are asking for" without any attention to overall design quality. This also means that things are updated just so people can see things changing, whether they like them or not.

                      @davidgerard The taskbar is one of the big dealbreakers for me.

                      Strip out all the Metro shite and all MS online tools, and maybe we can talk. Maybe.

                            @davidgerard The task bar moving will be vibe coded, so 30% of the time, it won't move and it will pretend it has, and there's a 3% chance of your task bar ending up projected on the moon.
