      @wplalonde Trying to work out the tree species. My first thought was walnut, but bark is not right, maybe poplar? But Iโ€™m not sure what part of the world you are in, so unsure about likely species.

        @IncHulk I'm in North America, not far from Lake Ontario. If I recall correctly it's a maple, but honestly I was paying more attention to the lichen at the time. I'll try to remember to check next time I walk that way.

          @wplalonde I puzzled over similar a couple years ago. My guess is Xanthoria parietina. If you watch close there seems to be some nearly everywhere๐Ÿ˜†

              @wplalonde I doubt you'd need to walk far. Once I took note of it as in the photo I began seeing it everywhere. It grows on my driveway, most trees around the yard, rocks... I just hadn't been "seeing" it๐Ÿ˜†
