@wplalonde Trying to work out the tree species. My first thought was walnut, but bark is not right, maybe poplar? But I’m not sure what part of the world you are in, so unsure about likely species.

@IncHulk I'm in North America, not far from Lake Ontario. If I recall correctly it's a maple, but honestly I was paying more attention to the lichen at the time. I'll try to remember to check next time I walk that way.

@wplalonde I puzzled over similar a couple years ago. My guess is Xanthoria parietina. If you watch close there seems to be some nearly everywhere

@wplalonde I doubt you'd need to walk far. Once I took note of it as in the photo I began seeing it everywhere. It grows on my driveway, most trees around the yard, rocks... I just hadn't been "seeing" it
