is anybody else noticing a big spike of low activity accounts posting horseshit arguments in support of slop machines?

I doubt it’s anything organized, I’m just wondering what I’ve missed that’s inspired these assholes to come out of the woodwork lately

@zzt The switch to vibe coding and not checking their own work has left the Bluesky dev team with too much time on their hands.

@zzt @davidgerard I have noticed it. I just block them. It's not even worth arguing.

@perigee @davidgerard that’s the way to go, it’s just interesting that I’ve had to machine gun block the replies to a couple of threads already and I haven’t had to do that for a couple of months (for LLMs at least)

@zzt I think the LLM companies are starting to get really worried this is going to turn out a massive disaster, losing an until now unheard of supercluster of money. The house of cards is starting to fall apart and they know it. Only strategy now is to employ their social media slop machine to slow down the inevitable crash after the tipping point is achieved. Hyper-persuasion will just slow things down. Allowing slimy things to find creative exits where they pass the costs of the failure on to the poor somehow.

@zzt been going on for a while at hackernews and even the usually slop-optimistic crowd over there are starting to get pissed https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47340079
