Ford probably thinks that's a bargain price compared to the billion he dropped getting beer into convenience store a whole year earlier than planned, the billion or so he's gifting Therme, the millions in 407 penalties he waived, etc., etc. The rich are generally tight-fisted but they can be surprisingly loose with other people's money.
