My totally unnecessary secondhand ereader has arrived!
-
@sheepnik Oooh, it's gorgeous. Madeline Miller already loaded.

@Cassandra An added bonus for sure!
-
I've already managed to open a book from my local library's ebook system on it, without having to hook it up to my laptop, which might be useful when travelling (though it does involve using my phone, and isn't a simple one step process.)
I really must go to bed, but not before I share the best thing I have done so far to my new ereader.

@sheepnik is False Knees on Mastodon? I feel they should be on Mastodon just for this moment

@sheepnik @falseknees @Stratski I think that's a post-only account, I haven't seen any interaction

And now I'm installing the Pocketbook software onto the device, because I think it might have more features than the Vivlio software. I also have no idea how I got a library book to open on it yesterday, as it doesn't appear to work today.

@sheepnik @falseknees @jjcelery Oh, I think you're right.. Still, nice to see the comics pop up in my feed.

It worked! Actually, it worked yesterday, but I never got round to posting about it. The Pocketbook software does have more features, though weirdly on this model it doesn't have as much as the app I have on my phone. Anyway, now I can sync things with my phone, or use Dropbox to transfer stuff, including library books. I've also installed Koreader, and I've set up the progress sync feature so in theory I can jump between devices. I think I'm going to like this.

Oh, and I also got Koreader to connect up to my Nextcloud account, so can access my books that way. I will not be stuck for reading material!
