@swampgas I think it comes down to whether you fear death, maybe? Or maybe how you see yourself? Like, no way am I fading away in a hospital bed. I'm too cool for that. Mauled by cave bears!
@photovotary right! I think most peoples fear of death is more terrifying than actual death.

@swampgas definitively eaten, by cave bears or by whatever creature eats raw human meat. Better than a long suffering that is also useless. At least the bear can be fed for a while, but who gets any benefit from my corpse in the other option?

@swampgas that depends: do the cave bears dispatch you quickly and then eat your corpse, or do you have to live through most of the eating process?
@BasinandRage lets just say for the sake of conversation that they play with their food for awhile but, pain escapes your body immediately after first contact, when adrenaline takes over
